When some pilgrims hear the Walk to Emmaus is held at “Camp” Geneva, they worry about roughing it all weekend. No need for concern! While the accommodations are not quite the Ritz, they are clean, modern and comfortable. Best of all, they provide an escape into a quiet and peaceful environment that promotes spirituality and fellowship.
Each cottage is air conditioned, furnished with bunk beds and has a full, private bathroom. The bathroom serves all Pilgrms in the cottage, so you will want to coordinate shower and prep times. There is hot water! A small mirror might come in handy for morning prep.
During your walk, each cottage will house no more that 4 Pilgrims. You'll have your own bunkbed with your choice of upper or lower bunk. The unused level can store luggage and other personal belongings. Places to hang clothes are limited, but most bunks have shelving next to the bed. A pilgrim can bring “over the door” hooks that work perfectly at the end of a bunk bed.
The cottages have outlets for CPAP machines, shavers and blow dryers. You may want to bring an extension cord or power strip, just in case.
During the walk, you'll travel among several buildings, including the conference room, dining hall and chapel. Please bring a lighweight rain jacket and umbrella in case we have inclement weather.
